The problem

To increase the overall performance of electronic sensor- or amplifier units, crucial components within these systems can be cooled to extreme low temperatures. However, adequate fully integrated cryocoolers to cool down these single circuits are not yet commercially available.

Currently available cryocoolers have overkill in cooling power, create a lot of vibrations, are very complex to integrate and are oversized for the cooling of single, small footprint, low-power circuits. In addition these cryocoolers require cryogenic know-how from its user. Something most electronic companies don’t have and/or don’t want to invest into.

Our solution

Kryoz Technologies offers cryogenic microcooling systems, which are comparable in size and weight to that of the device they cool and can be used in a plug-and-play manner. Our systems are fully integrated micro refrigerators which can cool down to extreme low temperatures, i.e. 100 Kelvin (-173 Celsius) or lower. Our systems are designed to cool down single, low-power electronic circuits such as low-noise amplifiers and sensors.

The cooling system is stand-alone and can be used by the customer as a cryogenic black box; no cryogenic expertise is needed to integrate our product with the (existing) user product.

Extremely small cold tips

Typical dimensions of a cold tip vary from 2 x 25 x 0.7 mm (net cooling power of 10 mW @ 96 K) to about 10 x 50 x 0.7 mm (net cooling power of 150 mW @ 96 K).
